For this project, our clients in Sammamish, Washington, had an overgrown Italian garden that didn't suit their needs. They desired a more functional backyard space for entertaining and playing with their kids and pets. They also wanted to incorporate a new structure and firepit but worried it would obstruct the existing views.
Our landscape design team transformed this space by:
- Leveling the yard to eliminate grade changes and maximize playability. This created a more open and usable area.
 - Trimming and opening up perimeter trees to improve sightlines. This allowed for a clear view of the new structure while maintaining mature trees.
 - Installing synthetic grass for easy upkeep, perfect for kids and pets. This low-maintenance solution addressed the client's desire for a functional space.
 - Constructing a beautiful porcelain paver patio became the project's focal point. This added both beauty and functionality to the backyard.
 - The new structure and firepit were positioned to create a courtyard effect, enhancing rather than obstructing the views. This achieved a balance between functionality and aesthetics.

This project is a great example of transforming an underused space into a beautiful and functional retreat that meets the homeowner's needs.
